Geocache Description:

Lost by GPS #4

Our GPS has taken us to our final location in this series. It has just taken us through what it refers to as “water” hehehe. We have ended up at an old abandoned filled in mine shaft.

No danger here as the whole has been filled in and all that remains is part of a brick wall and what looks like a vent/chimney kind of thing. You can also see nearby the lid for the shaft, which is not actually over the shaft at all.
In front of the remains is what could have been a settling pond.

Wouldn’t it be great if this place could talk, it would be able to tell you quite a few stories I reckon.

This is the final of 4 caches in our “Lost by GPS” series that we have hidden whilst out 4x4ing. Actually, our GPS was getting us lost in the bush. Who said our GPS’s new where to go, not us.

We were out driving on a Sunday arvo and saw a green patch on google map and thought we would investigate.

Well, we found our fnal ideal location and TOMTOM still has no idea where we are, so don’t blame us if you get lost trying to find this cache…hehehe.

The cache is on a well defined track once you have found #1 then #2 then #3 or by finding this one first and counting backwards.

We hid these caches in our X-Trail and as long as you have some kind of 4x4 function then you shouldn’t have any trouble. Bit DO NOT attempt this one in wet weather.

You can do these 4 caches all in one hit, either 1 to 4 or 4 to 1, either way you should be able to get just as lost as we were and find your way out of the bush eventually.

The cache is a 400ml Screw Top container with room for small swaps and BYO PEN.
