Giant BSA CITO event
May 15!

The Boy Scouts of America is organizing a National Cache In Trash Out day for all the Scout councils in the nation.

This will be a cleanup and potluck picnic event, please bring something delicious to share, your own tableware and drink. The shelter does not have electricity.

For Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing crews, adult volunteers, alumni, and ALL OF US CACHERS, with the support of the Iowa Geocachers Organization (IGO)! Visit Scouting.org/100years for more information on all of the BSA anniversary events/activities.

We will meet at Lake MacBride's Hillbilly Hill Shelter at 10:00 a.m. The CITO activities are for all age groups, from Cub Scouts to grandparents.

A rough schedule of events include:
10:00 Meet and greet
10:30 Park cleanup
11:45 Personal cleanup
12:00 Potluck picnic
1:00 Door prizes
1:30 Some special event caches just for this event. (We will have a few extra GPSr units that can be used by those without one.)

A short tutorial on what is Geocaching will be provided for those new to the sport.

Please bring a pair of work gloves if you have them.

Please join the Hawkeye Area Council and the Geocaching community for a day of service and fun!




Update:
We will be providing hot dogs, buns and the fixings. One of the grills will be lit if anyone is interested in using it. Remember there is no electricity in the shelter.
