Geocache Description:

A short walk through a few fields to get to this cache which is medium cliplock container with usual stuff!

Originally containing certificate card and keyring for FTF

Cache is located along a public footpath. There is electric fencing along the routes from both directions, however there is no need to touch it.

There are 2 approaches to reach this, in what will be the first in a series of caches around the village of Crick. If approaching from village, you will pass through fields with horses. If approaching from the direction of Winwick, you will pass through crop fields and small livestock fields.

Please do not drive up the private drive from the A428 to approach this cache, or park at the end of the drive.

The ground can be a bit muddy if recent rain.

Parking co-ordinates for village where several cars can park outside the Post Office or for one car on verge on the way to winwick. Parking can also be found at Garden Centre when open (N52. 20.900 W001. 07.536)

Crick is a lovely village close to the border with Warwickshire and is by-passed by the A428 main road from Rugby to Northampton, and is a short distance east of junction 18 the M1 motorway. Its population in the 2001 census was 1,460.

The Grand Union Canal passes near Crick, and the village is well known for its canal marina and the annual Crick Boat Show. There is also a long canal tunnel nearby.

Crick takes its name from the Celtic word for 'hill' (Cruc). Crack's Hill (where there are 3 more caches(grid reference SP595736)) is next to the canal. Crack's Hill is often climbed by the villagers of Crick and it is possible to see all of Crick, Yelvertoft, West Haddon and Rugby from its top.

This hopefully will be a good one for boaters to try or those taking a quick detour from the Motorway.
