I tried this one after doing the other Hoot Hoot cache nearby(now Fryrear Night Cache #1) and with no luck, but with a little help from trackzman I did finaly find the final. So when I adopted the other one I also ended up adopting this one as well. Now between replacing a couple of waypoints and using a most of the original waypoints it is all ready to go again. I put the parking at the Fryrear trailhead and it's a short walk over to both night caches.
Also if you want to do this Night Cache and want company just message me and if I am free I will gladly tag along. Its always a fun time to Night cache and it gives me a chance to make sure everything is in order.
Here is the original name and description:
HOOT! HOOT!-night cache-in memory of grandma
HOOT! HOOT! placed another night cache in remembrance of grandma- she passed away 3-8-10. HOOT! HOOT! placed this cache in a fairly unknown piece of BLM land off of Fryrear Rd. Park at the parking coords listed below and then walk to the beginning of the night cache. Be sure and check out the other HOOT! HOOT! night cache(Fryrear Night cache #1).
You will need a high powered flashlight, preferably a LED one that puts off a good beam. Put the flashlight at your eye level and shine 360 degrees around you and a reflection will come back. Keep going until you reach a red reflection and the ammo container will be in a 15' radius. There will be six white and one red- so a fairly quick night cache. There are no canyons to decend or accend. This is not too hard of a night cache for those that have done night caches. Try this on a bright moon night and see the mountains to the west.Grandma lived way past these mountains, but she always enjoyed visiting us here in Central Oregon with the great mountain views that we all share. She lived in Manzanita on the coast. So that is why there are sea shells in this cache. I ask you to bring tradable items that are coast related, or to leave items that remind you of the coast in remembrance of grandma. We put grandmas cache on a knoll with good views of the mountains, day or night. Cheers- and happy night caching...
