Geocache Description:

Another cache in the Beckley Rails to Trails series.

The Piney River & Paint Creek Railroad was the first railroad to build a train station inside city limits of Beckley, WV -- circa 1908. I have no proof of that I just stole that sentence off of a web page someplace. OK now that the history lesson is over let's start caching. Some of you may remember the rail road depot that stood near the Greyhound station. Some of you may also remember the Greyhound station. I think that is gone too. What I'm sure you do know is there is a Navy canon there now. I have no idea why. Some place in the world there is a pirate with a Shay locomotive and he is no doubt just as confused as we are.Today you can still see a retaining wall where the depot stood. If you look REALLY close you may also discover a Fist Full of Swag! Good luck.
