Geocache Description:

Now I invite the Cache-hunters to three attractions of Szigetköz .

1st virtual: The Calvary of Ásványráró towards Gyor.
2nd virtual: The column named Fehérkép facing the cemetery of Dunaszentpál.
3rd traditional box: (20 cm high, bucket / drum-shaped box) 100 m south from the Roman watchtower of Kunsziget.

The village of Ásványráró has been inhabited for thousands of years. And it was already indicated on maps of the Árpád age as Asseuthu. The villagers were occupied with gold washing, spinning and shipping.
Dunaszentpál was first mentioned in 1391 in a diploma as PAUL Zenthe. The village was often flooded by the river Danube and burnt by enemy troops.
The common people considered and named the Roman watchtower of Kunsziget “Tündérvár” – “ Fairy castle” because it was believed that fairies lived there in the ancient times.
