Geocache Description:

GPS is not just for techies anymore! If you are interested in the increasingly popular sport of geocaching using GPS (or know someone who is) and would like to learn more (or know someone who would), this is the event for you (or that person you know). By now you probably have figured out that experienced geocachers are encouraged to invite friends, friendly relatives, and relative strangers to attend as well.

Introductory information will be presented, including:

what geocaching is
what GPS is & how it is used for geocaching
how to get started & some techniques to use
what you will need
where to go
types of geocaches

Plus you will have an opportunity to practice your new skills right here, so be sure to bring your GPS unit, if you have one. (A GPS unit is not required to participate in this event.)

Wireless internet is available at the library for those who want to bring their own laptops, although they won't be needed for the presentation.

Geocaching is a wonderful family activity, so kids are welcome to attend with an adult. Please post a "Will Attend" log (use the drop-down menu at "Type of Log" under "log your visit" above), if you plan to attend. Interested folks without a geocaching.com account may send an email to geocaching.cco@gmail.com indicating their interest in attending. For planning purposes, please include the number of adults and the number of children who will be attending with you.
