Geocache Description:

Small cache in an urban park.

Just inside Priory Park, the cache is located not far from the splendid 50-ton fountain that originally came from the churchyard at St. Paul's Cathedral, on the site of the ancient Paul's Cross. Note arms of the City of London and of the bishop. The Bishop of London was also the lord of the manor of Hornsey. The fountain was unveiled in its new location in 1909.

The park takes its name from The Priory, a mansion constructed 1823-25 by the Warner family. The building was demolished by 1902. The park was known earlier as the Hornsey Pleasure Grounds, which opened in 1894. After an adjoining field was acquired in the early 1920s and the additional nine acres of Lewcock's Field were added in 1926, the enlarged grounds were renamed Priory Park.

You are seeking a small container in painted camouflage to match its surroundings. A small reward is included for the First to Find!
