This cache is the second in the 'Walks with Popster' series and is sited in Calves Close Spinney Chipping Warden; not quite a cache and dash but can be bagged as a stand alone find or as part of a circular walk.
During WW2, Calves Close Spinney was used by personnel from RAF Chipping Warden and the area was designated as 'Communal Site #3', the small copse contained various buildings including amongst others, a Sergeants Bath House, Officers Mess, Squash Courts, Gas Decontamination Centre and Barbers Shop.
Visitors will notice numerous building works in a state of decay and neglect, however, during the war years the copse would have been a hive of activity which gives Calves Close and eerie feel.
Please also be aware that their are trenches and buildings which are in a dangerous state and cachers, especially those with children should not stray too far from the trodden paths, also due to the dense foliage your GPS may have a bad day so take note of the clue!
The cache contains the usual pad, pencil, trinkets and a 'Get Yer Wellys On' TB
