Upper, Middle, Lower, and (sub)Urban Agua Caliente

Amid the rolling hills that separate the Catalina and Rincon mountains, the Agua Caliente rises. Fed by several unnamed drainages that flow steeply down from the high Southeast ridge of the Catalinas as well as overflow from "The Lake," the birth of the Agua Caliente could be considered to occur near Bellota Ranch. Here grasslands interrupted by oak, juniper, and mesquite provide habitat to rare species such as the Willow Flycatcher and Lowland Leopard Frog.

On B(month) of CDEF(year), 6889 acres of land near the headwaters of the Agua Caliente, was purchased by Pima County as part of their Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. This was a very important event for not only conservationists, but for anybody who enjoys recreating in the great outdoors.

This purchase was officially known as the A-P ranch area. The unnamed hill immediately behind the spillway of "The Lake," elevation, QRST, would be a good place to view this land.
