Geocache Description:

DO NOT PARK IN THE LOT NEAREST CACHE. This cache is a short distance from "Jack's Road" and "Irish Market." You can park in one spot and do a little bit of urban hiking to get all three. On-street parking is available if you just want to grab this one. Stealth factor can be high.

When people refer to 'the river' in Lowell they're talking about the Merrimack. We have another one. The cache is located where a canal enters the Concord..
The cache is also near a bench that was dedicated to Lowell native Ed McMahon of Tonight Show fame. When Kerouac Park was opened Ed was asked if he thought Lowell would ever dedicate a park to him.
His response was something along the lines of "I'll be lucky if I get a park bench." His luck was granted by Middlesex Community College, unfortunately the name plate on the bench was stolen sometime in 2010.
