Geocache Description:

This cache was going to be placed near a park in the Tucson area. For reasons beyond my control it could not be placed there. Given the history of the area where it is placed, the name still seems right.

It is not a long hike to the cache, but it does depend on where the Forest Service lets you park. If the gate is open it is only about a 1/4 mile, if closed, about 3/4 mile. Most of the hike is very straight forward on well established trails, but the last part is somewhat rugged. I would keep a close eye on children and pets. During stormy weather it might also be difficult to get to the area. Snow in the winter should not be much of a problem, but you never know for sure.

Make sure to wander around the area and take in some of the history. Find out what this place, on a mountain outside of Tucson, had to do with World War II and the later apology of the United States to the Japanese-Americans who were interned during the war.
