It is not a long hike to the cache, but it does depend on where the
Forest Service lets you park. If the gate is open it is only about
a 1/4 mile, if closed, about 3/4 mile. Most of the hike is very
straight forward on well established trails, but the last part is
somewhat rugged. I would keep a close eye on children and pets.
During stormy weather it might also be difficult to get to the
area. Snow in the winter should not be much of a problem, but you
never know for sure.
Make sure to wander around the area and take in some of the
history. Find out what this place, on a mountain outside of Tucson,
had to do with World War II and the later apology of the United
States to the Japanese-Americans who were interned during the
war.
