This is the eleventh in a series called “cache to Eagle” which highlight Eagle Service Projects by the Boy Scouts of Marin Council. The Photo highlights the Eagle Project site and may or may not include the location of the actual cache, although it will be nearby. Earn the Cache to Eagle patch!
A Scout from Troop 59 performed major landscaping at this school. This project included removing an unsafe wooden retaining wall, replacing shrubbery of an outdoor classroom and garden area, renovating and reseeding two lawn areas, constructing two permanent benches and three planter boxes and removing an overgrown bramble hedge along the north side of the school. Scouting provides a tremendous number of service hours to the community. If you took the total hours of community service conducted by the Marin Council in one year and assigned that to a single individual working 40 hours a week…how long would it take them to accomplish the same amount of service? Answer: 18.95 years!
