Geocache Description:

I have often wondered about this ridge, the very first one that is encountered in the Forest Reserve when entering from the east along the Sibbald Trail (Hwy 68). The ridge starts on the north side of the hwy and heads generally NW. I have checked it out a few times over the last week and hence, there are now two new caches on the ridge. This is the first and it requires a short steep hike of 700 meters (one way) with an elevation gain of about 90 meters. To get the next cache (GC256F9) you only have to go another 700 meters (one way) and climb another 50 meters. There may be another little shiny thing further along the ridge to find, better check the BCP page before you go!

At certain times of the year cattle may be encountered on the hill, there is ample evidence that this is a favourite spot! Other than that, it is a pretty straight forward and pleasant walk through open forest and meadows with great views. Park on the edge of Hwy 68 just past the Texas gate and head up the ridge towards R1 (a Pine tree and a big rock), take a break if you need it before continuing on to the cache. The cache is a smallish LnL containing some finders cards, a FTF prize and some swag, the LnL is inside a custom wood box for safe keeping. Enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MGV TEAM FOR THEIR "JUST IN TIME" FTF, CLOSELY FOLLOWED BY KILLERCORN.
