In Spring, this area is alive with native orchids.
This is one of three caches that allow the visitor to the area to get a view of the landscape. In a largely flat land, a few hills provide a panorama that provide an overview of the area.
The McPherson Range provides the backdrop for the City of Griffith. It is a horseshoe shaped range with Griffith on the outside on the curve. This cache location is along one arm of the horseshoe and provides views east to Cocoparra National Park and south and west to Griffith and the Lake Wyangan Basin.
Be careful where you park because the road is much more used than the construction of it would suggest. It is a formed road to the summit of the range. Drive to the conditions.
If you are a birdwatcher, take your binoculars with you. This can be a little hotspot in spring time.
The cache is a 500ml container with a notebook. You will need your own pen.
