Come celebrate 10 Years of Geocaching on Friday, April 30 from 6:00 PM
until 8:00 pm at Circle B Bar Reserve.
It all started on May 1st, 2000 when President Clinton
announced that the scrambling of the satellite navigation system,
known as Selective Availability (SA), would be turned off. On
May 2, 2000, at approximately midnight, eastern savings time,
twenty-four satellites around the globe processed their new orders,
and instantly the accuracy of GPS technology improved tenfold. On
May 3, 2000 the first geocache was hidden and had it's coordinates
posted on the internet. A short time later it was found and this
sport we all love was born.

Let's gather to tell geocaching stories, eat some food and maybe
find a cache or two. We will also take a group photo so try and
wear a festive shirt. The group picture will be taken at 7:00 pm.
If you can only drop by for a few minutes, try and do it at that
time so you can be part of the picture that will be sent to
Groundspeak. More details to come.
This event will be part of the Geocaching 10th Anniversary
celebration happening around the world during this weekend and will
meet the Groundspeak requirements for a special icon if you log
that you attended the event. Check out the links below.

Please bring a dish to share. I will be providing hot dogs,
buns, condiments, paper products, and water.
Be sure to add this event to your watch list in order to receive
any updates, should there be any changes to the cache page.
As always, there will be an area set up for any geocoins/TB's
you want to drop off.
