This is the State Wide meeting of the SCGA for March
(although it is in April). The 2009 SCGA “Best of”
Cache Winners will be announced.
The April 3 SCGA Statewide Meeting will be held at THE GAZEBO
IN HARBISON STATE FOREST near
Columbia.
Foremost among the Agenda Topics will be the Presentation of
the SCGA “Best Of” Cache Awards.
The meeting will start at Noon (to allow travel time for those from
around the State). You know how GeoCachers are when they get
together, so we'll wing it as to the official ending time. There
will be a potluck lunch so please make a note of what you plan to
bring.
For those of you with other scheduled obligations that day,
please note that you are more then welcome to come and go as you
please. This will be a fun event to meet fellow Cachers from all
over the state. As always, raffle prizes, TBs, coins, etc...are
welcome.
Harbison State Forest has over 2,000-acres of wooded forest
land just 9 miles from downtown Columbia, located along the Broad
River. As the largest Urban Green Space in the SE USA, it features
over 16 miles of trails for hiking and bicycling, picnic shelters,
and special forestry education programs. View the trail

Keep your eyes and ears open for bicyclists. It is much
easier to step aside than to conduct field research into the laws
of mass, momentum, and inertia.
Please note that parking is FREE IN THE GAZEBO PARKING
LOT ONLY!! Parking passes are required of all visitors and can be
obtained at fee boxes located at ALL OTHER parking areas. GATES
CLOSE AT 4:30 PM.

The nominations for the SCGA Best Of Awards 2009 are closed. It is
now time to place your vote. You will find a list of the nominees
in each category below. To place your vote, send an email to
SCGAConcerns@Yahoo.com or send an email through Geocaching.com by
clicking on the link to send an email to the South Carolina
Geocachers Association user account. Please include in your email:
your vote for each category and your geohandle. Only one vote per
cacher. If a geohandle includes more than one person (ex.
FASTFRANK&WANDA, UoTrackers) each person can make their own
vote; however, please use separate emails and address and list
which cacher of which handle it is (ex. Sissy of Sissy-n-CR, Smudge
of wee lee). Voting will commence at 12:01 am February 1, 2010, and
end at midnight February 28, 2010.
