Geocache Description:

A Sacred Place

Nearby the George Washington Tindall house was built in 1892, but for centuries a similar location has been considered sacred by Hindu's. as "Vat Vriksha." where the God Shiva as Dakshinamurthy is nearly always depicted sitting in silence. According to legend the Buddha also achieved enlightenment while meditating in a similar place. Also according to Philippine Mythology it is said to be home to a variety of spirits and demon-like creatures (among the Visayans, specifically, dili ingon nato, meaning "things not like us"). Maligno (Mystical creatures) associated with it include the kapre (a giant), duwende (dwarves), and especially the tikbalang (a creature whose top half is a horse and whose bottom half is a human).

Please step lightly and in reverence.(or in fear!)

Use the Golden Rule when you find a Travel Bug. Most owners would rather see their Travel Bug do a lot of travelling, so try not to hold on to a Travel Bug for too long. If you plan on holding onto the bug for more than 2 weeks, make sure to send a courtesy email to the owner letting them know.
