Many older developed areas throughout the Midwest have extremely gridlike patterns to the roads. This makes the land usage very efficient. A problem with this is when a natural feature exists that does not fit the pattern. In this case, there is a small stream that cuts through the area. It has reduced the usable area of some commercial properties and cut into some subdivisions. There are some areas around this stream that have wider wooded areas and some that have thinner areas. This is a large area.
Since the cache is small one should bring their own pen.
Be prepared. The canopy can be thick, so gps coordinates may be difficult to get accurately. When we placed this cache, we had no problem because it was in March, before the new folliage had developed. Also, in the late fall there is little vegetation to hinder a gps signal.
Update, Sept 1, 2018: This is definitely a flood plain, and when replacing the cache I moved it to a place that I think it will be safe from periodic flooding. If it has been raining heavily, localized flooding may make GZ for the cache inaccessible (or at least very soggy).
Depending on where you park, there may be a path that will take you to the cache area, or you may find yourself bushwacking cross country. I will let you decide where you think an appropriate place to park and enter...
