Geocache Description:

A 2 liter Lock & Lock-type container hidden in the Blue Mountain Reservation County Park.

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we’ll continue that journey into the next century.

The Boy Scout program in the US began in 1910 and currently is open to boys ages 11-18. Boys learn and grow through the experiences of camping, hiking, building projects, and community service. Scouting fosters self-esteem, a sense of value and belonging, a sense of accountability, and teamwork. It’s also a lot of fun! The skills learned in Scouting help young men overcome obstacles and challenges with courage and character throughout their lives. Geocaching offers a new opportunity for the Boy Scouts to experience the outdoors while honing their Scouting skills. This cache is placed in honor of all young people in hopes that they will also take this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

This cache was made available to Scouts in the Westchester-Putnam Council, Boy Scouts of America, on April 30, 2010, during its Centennial Camporee. The cache is being made available to the general public beginning on May 7, 2010.

In addition to WPCBSA, Treasures of Scouting, Action! Boy Scouts, we’ve hidden four other caches highlighting Scouting programs. There is one in each district in the council; this cache is in the Manitoga District. Find all five! Search WPCBSA, Treasures of Scouting on

There is also a sixth “bonus” cache: GC25998. Each of the five WPCBSA, Treasures of Scouting caches contains a clue. Keep track of the clues, and use them to determine the location of the final “bonus” cache, which contains a great FTF prize!
