Good news! You do not have to separate plastics from paper and tin
cans. All paper, tin cans and non-beverage plastic go in the large
yellow bins with hinged lids that are tilted upwards.
Your non-beverage glass containers (pickle jars etc.) go in the
smaller yellow bins clearly marked for glass only. There is a small
round hole on top of that one.
If you save beverage containers (plastic or glass soda, juice
cartons, beverage cans, wine and beer bottles etc.) you can get
MONEY back for them at the recycling depot at the bottom of the
hill in the industrial park. If that’s too much trouble
simply put the glass bottles in the yellow bin marked for glass and
put the others in the larger yellow bin.
That leaves everything else, called GARBAGE. That material goes
in the gray bins.
We thank you for responsibly sorting. At the time we hid this
cache, a visitor parked, removed a large bag of
‘garbage’ and set it on the ground. 905daniel, mstewx
and I heard the rattling of bottles in the bag. He threw it all in
the gray garbage bin to end up in our dump. If he had taken only a
moment, he could have recycled all that glass. Who knows how much
paper and plastic he had in that bag!!!
