The building nearby is the remains of Dorsey's Station, a railroad stop on the LO&S (Lancaster, Oxford, and Southern or Little, Old, and Slow as riders called it) Railroad. The railroad was started in the 1870's with hopes to join a railroad on the York county side of the river. The company ran out of money and the railroads were used separately on both sides. The railroad closed during WW1, when steel prices were so high they made more money scrapping the metal then operating.
