Windy Hole! (Wellington) Multi-Cache

This 2 part multi cache will take you from a rock archway to a penninsular with 360 deg views. Where you may see little blue penguins (nest boxes nearby), views of the Cook Strait, planes, ferries, heaps of sea life -possibly seals or orcas (last seen early March 2010).

The given GC coords will take you to the part 1 of this 2 part multi. Part 1 cache size - a small pill-pot near to the stone archway, only containing the final coords for this cache which is almost due South from the published GC.

Part 2 is a little more tricky - a wade and a walk (approx 30-mins round trip). Part 2 cache size 500ml Systema lunchbox suitable for trackables etc.

The crossing should only be attempted at +/- 2hrs of low tide. Check out: Wellington-Tide-Times. At low tide the water is usually only be ankle / mid-shin deep - other times could involve a swim or even a fast current! At high tide we would suggest a canoe..!

CacheNotes: Stick to the Eastern beaches as the terrain is easier. Avoid during: Bad weather, strong winds or very high tides!
