This site was once a part of a farm homesteaded by Scotish immigrants. They were also frugal in naming surrounding lakes - same name and just designated as North, South, Big, Little, etc. Many years ago the original owners gave the state a little piece of lakeshore for the public to use to launch their boats. A good fishing lake as are many in this area.
