Geocache Description:

You are looking for a film container. Permission to place this cache was obtained from Mark Schroeder of the New Berlin Park and Rec Department.

This is a series of five caches – four traditional and one mystery/puzzle cache that will take you on a tour of New Berlin's best parks. To find the coordinates for the final, you must first demonstrate your knowledge of the rules of Shotgun by finding each of the four traditional caches. Each cache contains partial coordinates for the final.

Shotgun! refers to the front passenger seat of a vehicle, where there’s more legroom, access to the radio and temperature controls, and of course, an unobstructed view of your surroundings. According to legend, this term got its name from the days of covered wagons, where a passenger carried a shotgun to protect the travelers from bandits while the driver was free to concentrate on driving.

Ride Shotgun

The basic rule of Shotgun is that the first person to yell Shotgun! wins his or her place in the front seat next to the driver. However, what usually happens is a long, heated argument about the rules. Right? Well, lucky for you, RatMatt is here to clear it all up for you once and for all. Here are the official rules of Shotgun!. It doesn’t matter what you may have heard from anyone else. These are the rules. Period.

Rule 1 – GC25HNY

Rule 2 - GC25HNQ

Rule 3 - GC25HP1

Rule 4 - GC25HPX

Final - GC25GDV

Rule 3: No pre-hollering. It’s completely against the rules to yell “Shotgun! on the way back."

However. . . . if you just make a quick stop in a gas station or travel rest stop, you retain your Shotgun! rights for five minutes. After five minutes, it starts over.
