Ogle's Fort Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

mcc42: Am archiving all but my Railway caches as the vast majority of the DNF / Owner Maintenance requests I get now are because people can't find caches that are there. Had tow this weekend and when I went to check both caches were sitting there. It's not worth the bother or fuel expense.

Geocache Description:

Road Directions

Located just off the Moss Road in Waringstown.

Ogle's Fort

A somewhat derelict rath but worth a mention as it is one of the final raths that lie between the Tullherron townland and Lough Neagh
Not very well preserved you can still appreciate it's strategic advantage.

The Cache

The cache is a magnetic camouflaged 35mm film container with log sheet and pencil. You do not need to leave the laneway to retreive the cache.
I have given this a 2.5 difficulty rating as the location is not so easy for those arriving by car. There is very limited parking opportunities on the Moss Road, and also on the laneway beside the cache. This laneway, whilst you may see it continuing through to the main Lurgan-Dromore Road on a map, becomes a private approx 500 yards beyond the cache so please do not use it. I suggest to use the space in front of the old derelict house on the Moss Road (see the waypoint). Please exercise caution on this bend as this is a busy road.
