Geocache Description:

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we'll continue the journey into the next century. This is one of five Treasures of Scouting geocaches to be placed by the Gerald R Ford Council.

BSA Alumni Connedtion: Scouting Alumni are former Scouts, but also supportive family members, dedicated volunteers and professionals, and the 10's of millions of Americans that benefit from Scouting in their communities everday. This cache is to honor people from around the world who support youth in the pursuit of excellence for their efforts.

This cache is hidden along the North Country National Scenic Trail overlooking the National Scenic Pere Marquette River.

The North Country Trail stretches more than 4600 miles, running from New York to North Dakota and passing through 7 states. The Pere Marquette River begins in Lake County, east of Baldwin and passes through Mason County before reaching Lake Michigan. Both the trail and the river make for great opportunities for Scouting outings throughout the year. Each August, 40 - 50 scouts and leaders meet in Baldwin to volunteer for the Pere Marquette River Clean-up.

In addition to BSA Alumni Connection, we will be hiding 4 other geocaches highlighting Scouting programs. Find all five! Search GRFC Treasures of Scouting on geocaching.com.
