Geocache Description:

Best Before : Feb' 2093

BYO Pen / Pencil. The S.S. Dicky, a German built steamer weighing 225 tonnes is the landmark and namesake of this beach. During heavy seas in 1893 the Dicky ran aground carrying 40 tonnes of sand and 11 crew. Several attempts to refloat the vessel failed, again due to heavy seas. Eroding away over the years while remaining a tourist attraction for the area, the Dicky has often been the center of media attention and of public interest in general. Historically, the Dicky is the last ship to be wrecked on a public beach in Australia. A Google search will provide a wealth of information about this vessel. You are looking for a plastic container, with swaps and a log. Please take care when retrieving the cache, and just as much care to return it exactly where you found it, well covered and out of sight. Thank you.
