You are looking for a small lock-and-lock-style storage container holding some Scouting-related swag and trade items.
This cache showcases Scouting’s commitment to Character. The essence of Scouting has been and is family: generations joining hands to build healthy relationships and strengthen communities. At home, at work and at play, Scouting’s lessons last a lifetime.
If you would like to help youth achieve their build character – or know of a child that could benefit from the program - please visit Scouting.org/Join.
For 100 years the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we’ll continue that journey into the next century.
The Boy Scout program in the U.S. began in 1910 and currently is open to boys ages 11-18. Boys learn and grow through the experiences of camping, hiking, building projects, and community service. Scouting fosters self-esteem, a sense of value and belonging, a sense of accountability, and teamwork. It’s also a lot of fun! The skills learned in Scouting help young men overcome obstacles and challenges with courage and character throughout their lives.
Geocaching offers a new opportunity for the Boy Scouts to experience the outdoors while honing their Scouting skills. This cache is placed in honor of all young people in hopes that they will also take this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.
Mountain Laurel District serves Bell, Harlan, Knox, Laurel, Whitley, Jackson, Clay and Leslie counties in southern Kentucky.
In addition to “Character” we’ve hidden four other caches in other Blue Grass Council districts highlighting Scouting programs. Try to find all five! Search “BGBSA, Pillars of Scouting” on Geocaching.com.
