Geocache Description:

The cache is my first micro hide and contains only a logbook and a tiny stub of a pencil – you might want to bring your own. Pluto is smaller than our own Moon and is only 3.8mm in the Kirkhill scale, so it is appropriate that the cache should be small, too. It is hidden in Beecraigs Country Park, a place well worth exploring.

Is Pluto a planet? “I Could Be” is carved into the granite block for this sculpture to represent the debate that was ongoing when the Kirkhill Pillar Project was created. However, in 2006 the International Astronomical Union created a new class of object and made Pluto a member of the “dwarf planets”. So now instead of being the smallest and oddest planet, it is now one of the biggest dwarf planets inhabiting the Kuiper belt on the outer fringes of the solar system.

Don’t forget to look for the bonus information inside the container lid, to help you find the bonus cache Halley’s Comet.

Cache placed with the kind permission of the wardens of Beecraigs Country Park.
