Geocache Description:

Welcome to Picnic Island one of seven Islands at Lake Eppalock.

The lake is down to around 47% as at 14/11/2025.You can now walk to the cache but must take care. All care must be taken when doing this cache by Boat. Please note when doing it by boat you will have a very steep climb to the top. Its not recommended doing this cache in strong winds as your boat will be pushed onto the rocks. Unfortunately, a new fence has been erected to prevent cars from driving out to the island when the water is low, park at the sign " no camping allowed" and walk in. Stick to the tracks as there are many old mine shafts dotted around the island that you could easily disappear into! -WARNING- Goulburn-Murray Water Park Ranger may patrol the area anytime ,please do not drive to this cache or you may find yourself in deep water with them. Please go to Related web page link for more info on Water Storage Levels. As always play it safe on the water and ensure you take all appropriate safety precautions and equipment on your vessel. Good footwear, gloves, and long pants are highly recommended. You are looking for a 1lt. Sistema container and has a new pen. In warmer months please look out for SNAKES they are BIG! You will have a great view from the top. Have a good day at Lake Eppalock.
