Geocache Description:

This is a beautiful spot off the Old CC Road in Golden Valley. The trail is a good hike, (@.5 there to the spot). The terrain is rugged once you are close to the cache. Take note of the natural fresh-water basins that are formed in the falls and stream... They also form a vortex effect in the water as it falls down the three tier waterfall. Swimming is also a good option in summer.

As you travel up Melton Road, the road forks to the right and turns to dirt, this is the Old CC Road. Continue on this road @ three miles until you see a little white church on the left. This is Fellowship Baptist Church. There will be an orange gate right past the church, if the gate is closed park right before it. The coordinates for this parking area are:
35 33.896N and 81 43.365W. If the gate is open you can pull to the next orange gate to the right. There are two, choose the one on the right. The hike will begin there, (around 1/2 mile to the cache spot). As you start the hike, you will see a small creek and the trail will fork, take the fork to the right where the blue tape is. You will cross the creek two more times before you come to the spot. There will be a clearing and you will turn left here to the creek. Climb down and hug the hill as you go down, under the laurels, hold them for support because there are a few slippery spots when wet, to the base of the falls. Once you are at the bottom of the falls, stand on the rock bar, facing the falls, and site to the left, look for the tree that is growing from no soil. Look @ 6 feet to the left. The cache is a large container that is clear with a screw-lid and black top. There is also a FTF prize inside as well.
