This is one of twelve in a series of cache to eagles to honor those who have achieved the rank of Eagle. When you identify all 12 points you can get a special patch.
These benches were built by an Eagle scout from Troop 388. They are spaced all over the trails. There are also 2 benches up by the fire ring that were a Girl Scout Silver project. This is a great little hiking area to take your younger scouts.
I would not recommend going in winter, very hard to access during that time.
