No matter what war was fought there was always men and women
that laid their lives on the line. From the American Revolution to
the War on Terror, they fought and still fight to give us the life
that we have came to hold dear in these United States. There are
seven veterans buried in the Hermitage Cemetary from all branches
of the armed forces that join this elite class of freedom
protectors. This cache is placed in their honor to say thank you
for all that they have given us.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. The posted
coordinates will bring you to the front of the Hermitage Cemetary
on Fisher Road. From here you will have to locate the seven
veterans and gather some information from their stone or military
plaque. You may have to look at family plot monuments to get
information also.
The seven veterans are:
Millard Lyon
Joseph Warren
Christian Ebersole
Kenneth McGrath
Joel M Potter
Robert A Michels
Glen A Smith
The cache coordinates are:
N 42 A.B
W 078 C.D
A= From the last two digits in Christian Ebersole's year
of death subtract the last two digits of the year that Joel M
Potter was born.
B= The actual ages (Don't just subtract the years. You have
to look at the month to get the actual age.) at death of all seven
veterans added together. Subtract 296 from this number.
C=The month Millard Lyon passed on.
D=Take the last two digits of every veterans (except for
Joseph Warren. You can't make out the years on his stone.) birth
year and death year and add them all together. Now add 203 to this
number.
As always, this is a cemetary so be respectful of everything.
You just have to look at the headstones and not touch them. No
night cacheing allowed! This will not be winter accessible as some
of the stones you have to look at are close to the ground.
UPDATE: I have checked on this cache a few times and spoken
to previous finders. Please replace the cache as good or better
than you found it so that the next cacher can have the same
"experience" that you did.
There are a couple of NY lottery tickets for the FTF.

Congratulations to Wild Bill and Jabber and
Szuchie for the shared FTF!
Just a couple of side notes:
I can't quite make out the dates on Joseph Warrens stone but I
believe he was an American Revolution or War of 1812 vet.
In the back of the cemetary there is the Blodgett headstone between
two pine trees. James Blodgett is believed to be the Hermit of
Hermitage.
