This cache is hidden close to the large burial mound in Stabby
Den s.k. Stabby-högen, eller Stabbykullen, är en storhög från yngre järnålder. Tidigare daterades den till folkvandringstid (400-550 e.Kr.), men idag anser man att den snarare hör till vendeltid (550-800 e.Kr.). Högen, som är ca 5 m hög och ca 23 m i diameter, undersöktes år 1920. Inne i högen påträffades två rösen, ett större och ett mindre. Under bägge rösen fanns lämningar av kremationsbegravningar. Fynden bestod av brända ben, järnnitar, järnstift, remtungor och rembeslag av järn, fragment av benkammar, spelbrickor och tärningar av ben, ett lerkärl samt fragment av minst en glasbägare. Ursprungligen har det också funnits en rest sten på toppen av högen, men den finns ej längre kvar.
Stabby-högen är omgiven av ytterligare ett femtiotal synliga gravmonument som utgörs av högar och stensättningar.
För att skydda lämningarna är cachen är inte gömd inom fornlämningsområdet, utan en bit därifrån.

The so called Stabby-högen (Stabby-mound), or Stabbykullen (Stabby hill) is a burial mound from the late Iron Age. The mound was earlier thought to be from the Migration Period (400-550 AD), but more recent research has argued that it should be dated to the Vendel Period (550-800 AD). The burial mound, which is ca 5 m high and ca 23 m in diameter, was excavated in 1920. Two cairns was found inside the burial mound, one bigger than the other. Remains after cremation burials were found beneath both cairns. The finds consisted of fragments of burnt bone, iron rivets and staples, strap fittings made of iron, bone comb fragments, game pieces and dices made of bone, pottery and fragments from at least one glass cup. There was originally a raised stone at the top of the burial mound, but it's no longer in place.
The Stabby burial mound is surrounded by an additional 50 or so visible burial monuments that concists of mounds and stone settings.
To protect the ancient monuments the cache is not hidden within the site, but some distance away.
