Yabo shrine loved by a citizen
A lot of students come in a season of the examination
Because the school is because God is there

A drive tour that I began it in Japan came from Tokyo to here via Koshu Kaidou.
I ate lunch on this occasion in plum forest
There is a clean pond

谷保天満宮は地元に愛されている天満宮です。
近くの駅名は谷保（やほ）ですがここは谷保（やぼ）天満宮です。
東日本最古の天満宮で関東三大天神と呼ばれています。
学問の神・菅原道真を祀っており受験のシーズンになると沢山の受験生が訪れます。沢山の絵馬も圧巻です。

通常の神社などと違い甲州街道から石段を下って境内に入っていくという独特の構造となっています。 以前甲州街道は天満宮の南側を通り本殿より下に位置していたが、多摩川の流路が洪水等でしばしば変わり渡し場が変遷していった結果、江戸中期以降は、ほぼ現在と同様に境内の北側に街道が敷かれたとされています。

1908年（明治41年）8月1日、有栖川宮の車「ダラック号」を先頭に国産ガソリン自動車「タクリー号」3台など11台が隊列を組み、日本初のドライブツアーであるとされる遠乗会で甲州街道を立川までの遠乗会が行われた。その際谷保天満宮の梅林で昼食会が催され、いまも梅林に記念碑が残されています。
今でも綺麗な湧き水がありその水で潤っている池もあります。
