Geocache Description:

Small lock and lock container

This is my grandson’s favorite local park because he loves to skateboard. There’s also a playground, a basketball court, picnic benches and a scenic trail that’s less than a mile long. I thought it was time to add one more cache to the other two already here and in keeping with the “rock theme” decided to call it Dumbarton Rock. This is actually a 240ft high twin peaked volcanic plug (see picture) in Scotland on which Dumbarton Castle was built in the 1200’s. You will not see anything quite like it while on this hike but I tried to find a spot where a castle could sit, if only in your imagination. You can get to the cache by following the orange trail loop. The shortest route is from the right side of the baseball field, but the trail is a loop so you can make the hike as long or as short as you want. While you are here, complete the loop and find the other two caches, Rock Slide 2 and Rock Dove The cache is just off the trail and does require an altitude adjustment. Coordinates will get you close to GZ but not exactly to the spot because of lots of bounce. Dumbarton Rock, Scotland
