Geocache Description:

The cache is a small screw top container in a blue bag. It is a short walk from the parking area which is on a hardstanding opposite a row of garages at N51° 17.390 E001° 06.4810
(or follow the signs from the junction of Sturry Road and Reed Avenue).

This area was once the city landfill site and after closing in 1986 it was sealed with a clay cap and laid to grass. In 1999 the Kent Gardens Trust approached the city council with a scheme to create a community park using Landfill Tax Credit Grants and in 2002 planning permission was obtained for this ambitious project. With funding, the hard work of a trust of local residents and public planting days, the 45 acre site has been transformed from a forgotten wasteland to the park that you see today.

After you have found the cache you may want to continue on a circular walk that will take you through the different areas that have been created.
