FROM: Chapel Hill Newspaper
RE: The Arrest of Anthony Callum
Mr. Anthony Callum of Gattis Park Drive, Chapel Hill, has been
detained by the Raleigh Police. As it is unusual for the Raleigh
Police to detain suspects within the boundaries of Chapel Hill (or
other areas outside of the main Capitol City districts), we are
providing the following information to other newspapers in the
state.
Mr. Callum appears to have suffered a type of delusional fit or
convulsion (seemingly exacerbated by a fever or feverish state)
following, and perhaps directly caused by, the unusual occurrence
of a meteor landing not distant from his family's home last night
(see front page story in yesterday's Chapel Hill Newspaper).
Not long after the meteor strike was reported, Mr. Callum seems to
have accosted a Chapel Police Lieutenant in a most forceful manner.
Mr. Callum spoke wildly and incoherently for nearly one hour. Mr.
Callum, as is understandable, was immediately detained for
observation and was subsequently relocated to the maximum security
Raleigh Facility for Lunatics and the Otherwise Disturbed (capably
managed by WCI Industries).
A complete transcript of Mr. Callum's wild ravings is naturally not
available, but unforgettable, frightening, and truly bizarre
utterances that the somewhat-overwhelmed Lieutenant was able to
remember include:
" The stench of the he-goat ... (unclear or incomprehensible)
"
" (unclear or incomprehensible) ... the death of Britannicus!
"
" They will force the coming of Sayh al Uhaymir! "
" A Great Old One will arrive from the globular cluster in Lepus!
"
" (unclear or incomprehensible) ... the Arabs' Empty One, the sifr!
"
" (unclear or incomprehensible) ... through their 790 millenium
reign of dank terror! "
Mr. Callum's son Timothy is still missing following the meteor
strike.
