Geocache Description:

“Yield not to temptation”

Music lovers, if you reside in Allegany County then you have probably seen or at least heard about the Rushford Town Band. This cemetery is the burial place of Horatio Richmond Palmer who was the founder and the first director of the Rushford Town Band. Palmer wrote many popular hymns including “Yield not to temptation” 1868. He was the director of Music at Chautauqua from 1888-1901 and had many music theory books published.

This cache is not in the cemetery near any graves, but on the outskirts so please be respectful as you pass near those resting here. The posted hours are sunrise to sunset so no night caching.

The cache is a lock-n-lock type container, room for small trade items, TB’s and a log book.
