Geocache Description:

This cache is the third in a series of caches placed in the Mackinaw Area Historic Village, with permission, of course. From this location one might see hurlers (pitchers) hurling balls, strikers (hitters) with ashes (bats), and runners kicking struck balls! Mayhem? Vintage Base Ball is made up of ballists, mascots, umpires, tally keepers, and cranks who are committed to enjoying the game the way it was played in years past. When a base runner crosses home plate, he has to report to the Scorer's table, ring the bell, and request "Tally one run, Sir" or his run does not count.

Base Ball was a sport for gentlemen and ladies, and both the Ballists and Cranks were expected to act as such. If anyone did not, they could be censured and fined by the Umpire, any amount between 10 cents and one dollar.

This cache contains $1.00 for the F-T-F in case the Umpire fines you during a game.
