Geocache Description:

Come celebrate 10 years of geocaching with us!

This will be a Birthday Party for Geocaching. Please bring your party faces and stories of Geocaching.

On May 1, 2000, the United States government announced that Selective Availability (SA) on Global Positioning Satellites would be shut off. This meant that civilian GPSr's would now have a drastically improved accuracy. On May 3, Dave Ulmer placed the first "GPS Stash" and the game we call Geocaching was born. Read more history here. (visit link)

On May 1 and 2, 2010, scores of events are being held around the world to celebrate the tenth anniversary of geocaching. There will be a special icon for those who log one of the 10 Years! events.

Come out to Dairy Queen in Lewiston, Id on May 2nd from 7:30pm to 10pm and join in the celebration!
