Geocache Description:

Come and enjoy a very easy 1km walk around a wonderful ecological preservation area in Mission.

The Silverdale Creek Wetlands are the result of hard work by the city and several non-profit societies, including a partnership with Ducks Unlimited.

This area was once a field of canary grass and has been transformed into a protected site for migrating Chinook and Coho Salmon. It also provides a natural habitat for many other forms of wildlife.

On our visits we have seen Great Blue heron, Eagles, Killdeer and many other smaller birds. Although we did not spot them, there are also red legged frogs.

Silverdale Creek Wetlands Bird Boxes

The cache is a micro container attached (using unique camouflage) to the back of an information sign.
It can be reached without leaving the path.
The container holds only a log sheet with no room for trade items.

Please stay on the paths and keep your dogs leashed.
