This is a beautiful waterfall when the water level is up after a good rain. Several kayakers drop in from time to time. The cache is placed away from the main traffic area. Prepare to rock hop.
PLEASE NOTICE THE UPDATED COORDINATES located under the "Additional Waypoints" heading below. The GPS signals in this area are somewhat unreliable because of the terrain and trees. For that reason, I have included information and pictures that should help guide you in the right direction...
There is a parking area just north of the bridge. Make your way down the trail to the waterfall and then follow the creek to locate the cache. When you come to the location pictured in PIC 1, turn to your right and head toward the highway just after you pass the double Eastern hemlocks in PIC 2. For those who are not familiar with hemlocks, look for the trees with needles like those in PIC 3. After deciding to place the cache near the waterfall, I chose the specific location for those who enjoy a small challenge when searching for a cache. This cache should only be attempted by those with the desire and ability to pull themselves up (or to hoist someone up lol).
I wanted to draw attention to this location because it has POTENTIAL to be beautiful again. Lately, it seems people have been leaving more and more trash behind. This is the perfect place to practice "Cache In Trash Out"!
