Geocache Description:

About a one liter peanut butter jar.

Many long years ago the province cut a drainage ditch across the farm land south of the Assiniboine to allow the fields to drain, and increase productivity. The canal created a problem though, as portions of the fields were cut off from the farm properties. (This was long before PTH 424 was built, which was about the year 2000) The railway did not want more crossing points here, so the province built a number of bridges to allow the farmers to cross the ditch to work their land. There are three old paved wood bridges between the 424 and Lido Plage Road along the ditch. The bridges were placed at the points where two river lot properties met the ditch, in order that two farmers could use each bridge. The appearance of the river lots, and the location of the bridges are readily seen on Google Earth. You can quite easily walk the whole length of the ditch from the places where Lido Plage and 424 cross. The cache is located under what we call the first bridge, as we approach it from the 424. It should be a very quick find. Before planting, and as long as the ground is dry, it is also very easy to drive in from the north or south and drive across the bridge.
