People often confuse undercover police officers for plain clothes officers. Officers that work in suits guarding dignitaries wear funny looking earpieces and speak into their sleeves, are in plain clothes, not undercover. Undercover officers , work covertly and in secret and don’t let anyone know their true profession, often not even fellow officers.
