Geocache Description:

We have driven by this lovely little secluded cemetery many times over the years and finally took the time to wander through it. We really enjoyed this peaceful spot and decided placing a cache here would encourage others to visit it, too. You can park outside the entrance gate just off the main highway and take a pleasant short walk to the cemetery.

UPDATE 10/1/17 TREES FELL THROUGHOUT THE CEMETERY SOMETIME THIS SUMMER. WE WENT TODAY AND CLEANED UP THE AREA AROUND WP1 BECAUSE IT WAS TOUGH TO SEE WHAT YOU NEEDED TO ANSWER QUESTION C. WE ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE HINT, AS THE HIDING SPOT FOR THE FINAL HAD ALSO FALLEN. IT'S STILL A NEAT OLD CEMETERY, SO ENJOY THE SHORT HIKE TO FIND THE ANSWERS NEEDED TO FIND THE CACHE. This is classified as a cemetery cache. Please note the cache is NOT hidden on any grave markers or grave sites. If there is a service going on or people are visiting their loved ones when you arrive, please be respectful and come back at a later time. Your understanding and compassion for these people will be appreciated. The final cache coordinates are N45 30.ABC W089 09.DEF You will need to answer the following questions and replace the letters with the numbers you come up with to obtain the final cache coordinates. There are some newer gravestones and also some very old ones. There are 4 gravestones and a cross in a small fenced in area at the original cache coords where you will find the answers to questions A and B. One of the oldest ones, which we found very interesting was very difficult to read, but we think it was for Emma L. B. Bowen who was born on July 14, 1878 and passed away on March 8, 1906. Someone has recently placed flowers on this one (see pic in the gallery). Answers to the first two questions can be found at the original coords: A = What is the number of letters in Mother Augusta's last name minus 3? B = What is the sum of the digits in the year of her death divided by 2? After you have found the answers to questions A and B, take a short walk up the hill to begin a very nice little loop that will take you past the three waypoints listed. You will find the remaining answers at these waypoints. You will discover several more graves hidden in the woods along the way, some relatively new and some quite old, some very well taken care of and some nearly disappearing. WP1 (Weenink) has the following answers: C = How many aunts are resting here? WP2 (Old and New) has the following answers: D = How many letters are in Ms. McGillis's first name? E = What was her age minus 49? WP3 (Newest Stone) has the following answer: F = What is the sum of the digits in the year of the golfer's birth minus 9? Once you have filled the numbers in you will have the final coords. You are looking for a 35mm canister with a log only. You will need to bring your own pencil. We hope you will enjoy the find and exploring this wonderful cemetery as much as we did. (If you go a little farther up the hill past the loop and into the open spot toward the power lines, you can see an osprey nest on the third pole to the south. There was an osprey nesting the day we visited, so that was an added attraction for us.) CONGRATS TO COPPERPEAK FOR HIS PERSEVERANCE THAT MADE HIM FTF.
