Geocache Description:

You are looking at one of twelve caches hidden across Vermont.
These caches are part of the Caching to Eagle cache series.

This series of caches highlight another component of Scouting: Service. All Scouts performs many hours
of community service, from collecting food each year to a myriad of conservation projects. This series
highlights just a few of these.

Scouting provides a tremendous number of service hours to the community. If you took the total hours of community service conducted by the Green mountain Council in one year and assigned that to a single individual working 40 hours a week…how long would it take them to accomplish the same amount of service? Answer: 18.95 years!

The Cache to Eagle series is to highlight both Geocaching and various Eagle projects across Vermont.

This cache the "CTE - Three Rivers District - Williston"  highlights not one but two Eagle projects.  This cache is located near the Deer View Cemetery in Williston. The Deer View Cemetery is a fairly recently commisioned Cemetery. Only established in 2001.

But since then Troop 692 of Williston has had not one, but two,  scouts who have completed Eagle service projects on the grounds of the cemetery.

One scout erected a storage bulding on the grounds. While a second scout built a gazebo for families visting to get out of the rain or just to sit and reflect.

Now on to the cache. The cache is located in the strip of woods behind the cemetery. Please note, amount of snow, time of year, if a burial is going on may affect where you can park.  But after that a nice walk across a grassy field and you should have the cache in hand.

Any scout who completes all 12 of the cache to Eagles caches spread across the state is able to log the Cache to Eagle Bonus cache.
After Logging this cache the scout can receive a patch stating he has completed the 12 Vermont cache to Eagle caches.

See the cache GC27ZDX for details on how to get your own patch as see below. Would look great on your Class A uniform.
