Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Medina County Parks 45th Anniversary Challenge. You do not have to participate in the challenge to do this cache, but we hope you will anyway!

Princess Ledges Nature Preserve is located in Brunswick Hills Township. This 46 acre preserve is heavily wooded and offers an abundance of wildlife and wildflowers. Extending more than 1,100 feet in length, these ledges significantly influence the plant and animal life found here. This is an excellent spot for spring warbler watching and wildflower photography. It also has a high-quality forest including mature oaks and tulip poplars. At one time thousands of years ago, these cliffs were the shore for Lake Erie. Due to the topography of the site, handicap access to the trails is very limited.

A little over a ½ mile round-trip hike will be required to get this cache. Begin from the parking located on Spruce Rd., on the west side of Pearl Rd. just north of Grafton. Take the trail near the park sign into the woods.

Follow the trail to the yellow sign,
Go right at the fork, then past lots of vines.
A fallen giant across from them,
Then down, down, down on your way to this gem.

Over the bridge built by Paul,
Then bear left...take care not to fall.
The red trail is longer but stay with the yellow,
And soon you'll be a lucky fellow.

Walk across the second bridge,
It's not too high-- just over a ridge.
Now count three trees then a mossy rock,
Stop, stand still, and now take stock.

Look for two that stand together,
Sharing space in all kinds of weather.
Living closely side by side,
This is where you'll find the hide.

The cache, a small peanut butter jar, is located about 8 feet from the trail, so please do not bushwhack. Please remember to cache in and trash out. Park closes at dark.

This cache will expire on October 31, 2010.

If you have questions or concerns about any of the caches in this challenge, please contact Shelley at 330.239.4814 or stender@medinaco.org.
