The cache is winter friendly, located halfway up Higgins Mountain.
Higgins Mountain is a 40 acre preserve with a short trail winding through the forest to stunning views at the rocky summit. In 2004 a wildfire burned part of the mountain. Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT) volunteers are monitoring the recovery of vegetation. Rare Broom crowberry is found in the shallow soils.
